The First Congregational Church is located at 44 Liberty Street in the Historic Washington Heights section of the City of Newburgh. We are asking for any donations whether small or large to help defray the expense of replacing the complete roof which is in dire need of repair. Any additional funds would be used to help restore any sections affected by the aged roof. In 1890 construction began and the beautiful “Queen Ann” style church was completed in 1891. It has the original and oldest bell in the City of Newburgh, which still rings at 10:00am every Sunday prior to service. From the top of our historic belfry you can see the surrounding area that we have been blessed to serve. Our non denominational Christian church will be turning 130 years old March 26, 2021 and we are asking for this opportunity to keep our doors open to continue spreading the word of our Lord. As well the continuation of serving the City of Newburgh with such organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Heights Association and Harvest Christian Church which all have used the church for functions. Thank you for any and all contributions towards preserving our beautiful historic church. Blessings The First Congregational Church Ephesians 3:21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
