The Light at the Top of the Hill

The First Congregational Church wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.

Who We Are

In 1890 construction began and the beautiful “Queen Ann” style church was completed in 1891. It has the original and oldest bell in the City of Newburgh, which still rings at 10:00am every Sunday prior to service. From the top of our historic belfry you can see the surrounding area that we have been blessed to serve. Our non denominational Christian church will be turning 130 years old March 26, 2021. We remain the beacon of light at the top of the hill and keep our doors open for all of those who wish to praise and worship with our Christian family.

Ways We Help

The First Congregational Church is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Christian Organization is aimed at providing a Christian approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. We make sure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and communities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our church family has many opportunities to volunteer and help the surrounding community. Habitat for Humanity is one the many groups in the area that we have the privilege to work with.

Fundraising

The church has fundraisers through out the year that help our doors stay open. Through dinners, raffles, and other projects the church is able to reach out to the community in many ways. Currently we are raising money to replace our roof and we do have a GoFundMe page to help with that project.

Sunday School

Our every growing church does offer Sunday school at 10am every Sunday. Reaching out to out youth is very important and we all look forward to sharing the word of our Lord with our youth.
